Magic was laying down at the side of the road when Candy spotted him, she stopped and found him hunkered under a bush afraid, but once she got out a lead he came over as if to say ‘Oh you’re saving me!’

The heat at this time was close to forty degrees and Magic was extremely dehydrated and emaciated so he was given a drink and some food, as anyone would have done – however this was absolutely the wrong thing for him!

Shortly after they noticed his abdomen beginning to swell up and on examination they noticed stitches alongside his penis but no previous wound that would suggest surgery, these stitches were effectively cutting of his ability to urinate and defecate which is incredibly dangerous and he was getting worse and on the verge of collapse as he was going in to renal failure.

Several calls to various vets resulted in none being open or available to help him so the only course of action was to get him to the CVC in Sofia where an emergency surgical team was on standby for him – but this was 4 ½ hours away – would he make it?

Magic was barely alive by the time he got to the CVC, he’d gone downhill fast and practically collapsed as he’d lost the use of one kidney already, it was touch and go whether he would make it at all now.

1.5 Litres of fluid were removed from his stomach and 1 litre removed from his bladder, which is 10x more than what is normal and a drain was put into his stomach to allow any fluid build up to drain away. After various ultrasounds, scans and x-rays he was also found to have a tumour the size of a walnut at the neck of his bladder, which was subsequently removed, however we are still waiting on the results of this to see whether it is malignant or not and whether it grows back.

Magic is by no means out of the woods yet, his surgical team saved his life and we will forever be grateful to them for doing so, but he may have further surgery down the road if the tumour grows back and is found to be cancerous.

Throughout all of this, little Magic has been the most perfect, happy, loving and brave little boy, he is so affectionate and kind and you can see the absolute joy in his eyes at having been rescued and treated.

We gave Magic every chance we could to save his life, we owed it to this brave boy to give him all we could to make him better so he could one day, hopefully go on to live a normal, long and healthy life, but we have now been left with a large outstanding medical bill for his costs and with our funds now down to almost nothing we urgently need your help to pay those bills.

Please give what you can to help us pay for the outstanding bills for this stunning, courageous boy, Magic as we cannot do it without your help. Thank you.
