My name is Adil, and I am writing this with a heavy heart on behalf of my family.
On October 9, my father-in-law and mother-in-law came to Canada from Morocco. They were full of joy, coming to support my wife for the birth of our baby. Everything was supposed to be a time of happiness, laughter, and family togetherness.
But on December 21, everything changed in an instant.
My father-in-law suddenly suffered a severe and unexpected stroke. That day, our lives stopped.
Two days later, on December 23, my wife gave birth to our baby. While we celebrated new life, her father was fighting for his life in the hospital.
Doctors had to place a breathing tube in his neck and a feeding tube in his stomach to keep him alive. Since then, his condition has remained extremely fragile. Some days, he shows signs of improvement. Other days, he develops fevers and infections, struggling just to stay strong.
I never imagined I would have to ask for help or share our situation with strangers… But today, we have no other choice.
