Due to the government shutdown and other recent events, the fundraising timeline will be extended until we reach our goal. Meta-Hive Immersive Gaming is being created to bring a new source of entertainment and connection to Springfield, Illinois, especially during the long winter months. In our community, it’s easy for people to feel isolated when the weather keeps everyone indoors. I wanted to offer a positive, engaging way for families, teens, adults, and even retirement communities to come together, have fun, and stay active.

With Meta-Hive, we plan to host VR gaming events using MetaQuest3 headsets, allowing up to 24 players or more to participate at once on 360 treadmill platforms. No tripping or getting off balance. These events will include open play sessions for those curious about VR, as well as themed games, tournaments and other competitions. There are opportunities for schools to compete in our Population One and virtual reality and mixed reality laser tag tournaments.

🎯 5vs5 in Mixed reality Laser Tag School Team Call Out!

Challenge a rival school. Here's our plan: Unlock a new era of Mixed reality gaming! MissionX, a competitive multiplayer FPS game that will turn your play space into a free-roam virtual battlefield. With MissionX, you can create a fun and active shooting laser arena for friends and family at your school, indoor areas, and weather pending outdoor areas can be used...for a battle or team up against the AI enemy.

Each participating school can have 96 students per 2-hour event, or 144 students per 3-hour event. Each 5-person team will have 25-minute gameplay. Example: Southeast High School calls out Lanphier. Southeast issued the challenge so they would be the home team, and Lanphier players travel to Southeast. The home team is responsible for setting up a few different arenas using classrooms, hallways, and other areas. Weather pending any outdoor areas too. 

The hosting team can raise funds by hosting family dinners for players, family and friends there to support them. We want to keep our prices very reasonable for maximum enjoyment. We were thinking $15 per player. $5 will help cover wear and tear on the equipment. $5 will go toward the hosting school to help with their fundraising efforts. $5 will go toward the prize pool to award the winning players in the 2–3-hour tournament event.

 VR platforms are great when playing virtual reality games because they offer a level of immersion that is unparallel. VR platforms provide realistic graphics and audio, contributing to a more immersive experience. The unique gameplay mechanics of the VR platforms also make gameplay more engaging, as players can interact with object in virtual space and use intuitive gesture controls.

VR platforms are considered safer and more fun than free roaming. 

VR 360 treadmill platforms are considered safer due to their ability to provide a more natural locomotion experience that mimics real-world movements. This includes walking, running, crouching, and strafing, which are essential movements for physical fitness. By translating real steps and movement into virtual ones. These platforms offer a safer and more immersive way to gameplay and exercise.
