The Forward Foundation is a BC-based non-profit that provides young adults who have a serious, life-limiting illness with a meaningful experience of connection.

In 2022, they arranged for Jordan to visit his high school and university in Ontario and Quebec, where he was able to reunite with friends, past teachers and professors, and family. Every detail was planned and funded by their generous and compassionate team, who also helped pivot quickly when medical challenges arose that threatened to derail the trip. This trip meant the world to Jordan, who had been feeling like there was nothing left for him to look forward to as his cancer progressed. We are so grateful that they gave him this opportunity to travel and reconnect with the people and places who shaped him during his teen and young adult years, and made him into the man so many of us knew and loved. 

Since his passing in 2022, we have raised money for The Forward Foundation in Jordan's memory, and to thank them for the work they do to help young Canadians faced with serious illnesses. 

We were invited to attend their annual Cayford Gala, a night to raise funds for future recipients, celebrate the community of participants and their loved ones, and honour those who we have lost. 

In 2023, three of us attended. In 2024, we had a table for 10 and filled every seat. Both evenings were incredibly meaningful and emotional, and Jordan's smile lit up the screens throughout the night as one of their honoured recipients.

This year, we hope to fill a table again, and would love your contribution to help make that happen. 

A table of 10 costs $1500, or $150 per seat. This has been a cost barrier to some, who we would love to have the opportunity to join us. So this year, I will purchase a table and would greatly appreciate contributions from friends and family to offset the costs for guests who would like to attend.

• If you would like to donate but are unable to attend, we are so appreciative of your support and will be sure to raise a glass in thanks! 

The deadline to RSVP is September 16, 2025. Donations will be accepted until the date of the Gala (October 18), though having donations before Sept 10 will help greatly with planning! 

If more than $1500 is raised, we will donate all extra funds to The Forward Foundation directly, or consider purchasing additional seats if there is more demand.
