Israel Martinez hasn't added a story.
In today’s church we far too often want to “white wash” the ugly, messy, and real aspects of the believer’s life. So when one is asked, “how are you?” it is usually met with, “too blessed to be stressed!” and “I’m good” or some variation. When in reality, we are stressed and we are not good.
So I am going to level with you. My brother Ronnie Legg, is not good. He is not “too blessed to be stressed”, when in fact he is drowning in hardship at the moment; all of it, self-inflicted. He has failed the church, he has failed his mentors, he has failed those who looked up to him, but most importantly, he has failed his children, all of them. A father’s responsibility before anything else is his very presence.
Ronnie has expressed deep regret and sorrow for this and sends his warmest apologies those whom he has hurt, especially his children and their mothers. Ronnie has elevated the streets over his family, the game over the church, and idolatry over Christ, his Savior. I will not white-wash these facts. Thank God this is not the end of the story. I have been in contact with Ronnie since his last bout with addiction (to all the wrong things!) and I have come to conclude that he is repentant. He has demonstrated a contrite heart and willingness to finally sit, and let God minister to him rather trying minister to others before he was ready.
Ronnie did a good job of hiding his struggles, white-washing his addiction, pretending to be ready to minister when instead he needed to sit and grow. He sees that now, finally. Hopefully it is not too late for him. Ronnie was recently re-arrested for evading arrest and felon in possession of a weapon. However, recently he was also charged with a robbery that he did not commit. Ronnie has put his faith and trust in Christ and is willing to accept the outcome of his circumstances as the providential hands of God’s will. Still, I felt compelled to reach out and try to help him in these circumstances.
Ronnie is a lot of things, (most of it not so good, lately), but it was Ronnie who led me to Christ when I was incarcerated with him. It was Ronnie who compelled me to leave the gang and live for Christ. I am forever grateful for this. So I am asking you to consider helping. We are trying to raise support so that Ronnie can have another chance. I understand if you don’t feel he is worthy of your support, I get it, I really do but it doesn’t mean he isn’t trying. Will you stand with me in trying to get a brother back on his feet and back on the right track? I pray you will. Thanks in advance.

Israel
