Hello, My name is Dan.
I'm the owner of UP THE WALL Murals & Painting.
Until 2009 I was a school teacher but had taken a few stress leaves. Enough so that I had to question my chosen career path. With the help of my doctor and some other specialists I discovered that I have Social Anxiety Disorder, prone to Deppression and am borderline ADD. How I managed to become a teacher is a miracle in itself but remain a teacher was not in the cards.
After resigning from the school board I held a few other jobs but my chellenges made it difficult to be successful. My only recourse was to explore self employment. My doctor agreed that it would be the best fit for my needs as I will be able to control my work environment and stress load.
After 3 years as a murals and house painter I could not be happier. I am now a very happy person, ready to get up in the morning and take on the next painting project. I have not had any bouts of deppression or anxiety attacks either. The only problem of course if money.
I can only barely keep my head above water. The business has exspences to maintain, the vehicle needs repairs, I need my medication, and the family expences are also a burden. Most of the time I fall short to pay one thing or another every month.
For the sake of my health and happiness I would like to remain self employed. I only need a little help so that I can take care of my expences and take care of my family.
