Hi everyone,
Welcome to our fundraising page which has been created for our event, the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. We are doing the challenge to raise funds for medical equipment for my amazing sister in-law Laura. We will be walking 24.5 miles, up and down Yorkshire 3 highest peaks, all in 12 hours!
Laura has had Cystic Fibrosis from birth, a life-threatening genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. In CF the body produces a unusually thick mucus that builds up and clogs the lungs and causes life-threatening infections and lung damage. Laura's daily routine is doing medications and physiotherapy to keep her airways clear. Laura currently performs this manually on herself.
Our aim is to raise funds to buy Laura a much needed physiotherapy vest, which will significantly improve Laura's life. This piece of equipment is not provided on the NHS, so a large group of Laura's family and friends are taking part in the challenge, which will be on saturday 18th July 2015 to hopefully raise the funds needed.
