Justin is an undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina - Pembroke, and a member of the RISE program to increase the diversity of scholars pursuing careers in science. Justin is a lifelong resident of Robeson County, a rural part of North Carolina, south of Fayetteville. Justin has made the most of his undergraduate experience and is currently conducting research in yeast cell biology and bioinformatics. A first generation college student, Justin has big dreams of also being the first in his family to attend graduate school. He has one thing standing in his way - the GRE (graduate record exam) - the standard test recquired for most graduate school applications.

In order to be eligible to start school in the Fall 2015 semester, Justin has to take the GRE now! But he needs your help paying for it.

The test costs $200, plus the travel to and from Fayetteville on test day, which is quickly approaching. He will take the test on November 28, 2014. As a part of the RISE program, Justin is not permitted to take on another job. He pays his way through school and for all of his expenses without any outside support. He also has medical bills that have affected his ability to save for this exam. Your contribution to this fund will help him pursue his dreams of studying genetics to help people who suffer from a variety of diseases.

Please support Justin!
