Friends, URGENT! 130 Cavaliers have been turned over from Rock Cliff Farm in Alabama to an auction company. They are already in the hands of the auction company. These dogs will be sold to the highest bidder to puppy mills. USDA dog options ... More ...

Friends, this is urgent. 130 Cavaliers have been turned over from Alabama breeder Rock Cliff Farm to auction company SW Auctioneers in Missouri. They are already in the hands of the auction company. These dogs will be sold to the highest bidder...to puppy mills. USDA dog auctions are horrific things. Google "puppy mill dog auction" if you want to see for yourself. Puppy mill operators will be driving from states away to obtain dogs such as these. It's suspected that bidding will be fierce and the auction company will have shill bidders present driving up the price. It is important for rescue to be savvy about this.

If we cannot raise the funds to purchase these dogs and turn them over to rescues for vetting and adoption, it's guaranteed these dogs WILL be bought by puppy mill operators, placed in wire cages much like the ones you see in the picture (that these poor dogs are just coming out of) and will spend the rest of their lives living on wire in a cage and never taken out except to be bred and whelp puppies. The neglect and sadly abuse they will suffer goes beyond most pet owner's comprehension. Most people don't realize that awful places like this really do exist.

While individuals wanting to rescue can go to these auctions and bid, it is important that these people let us in the rescue KNOW so we are not inadvertently driving up the price of dogs thinking we are saving them from a miller.

Rescues are standing by to accept these dogs. Unfortunately, the main cavalier rescues (ACKCSC Rescue Trust, etc.) are prohibited from purchasing dogs so their hands are tied. They stand at the ready to help the dogs once free. It's up to us.

Every single dollar contributed will go towards purchasing these Cavaliers. Unfortunately it's unlikely it will be enough to help them all.  While current cavalier auction prices are between $650 and $900 per dog, in cases such as this dogs can go as high as $5000 each. There are 130 dogs. All the dogs in the photo above are some of the actual dogs being helped.

If you have ever considered helping rescue, now is the time.

If you want more information about the situation, please contact me. I'd love for a guardian angel to swoop down and say they could buy them all, but in lieu of that we need many many guardian angels to give what they can. While this rescue is all still in the organization phase as we scramble to gather all the info, we know that time is critical. The auction is supposed to be in two weeks. Whatever details remain to be worked out, what the director of the ACKCSC rescue trust stated is this," [Rescuers] need to understand they need a lot of money to pull this off."

There will be troops on the ground auction day to buy every dog the funds will allow. Let's send them in with all the ammunition we can. Thank you so much and please share this!
