My Name is Davis Maifield and I love to play baseball.

For my whole life of baseball I have played on in-house teams at GTAAA and for the Grant Jr Bulldog All-star teams.  I have always been the youngest on my teams, this season I played for the 12U Jr Bulldog team even though I was only 11.

My goal since I turned 10 was to play on a team in a tournament in Cooperstown N.Y. (I watched my brother do it in 2013 and it was AWESOME!).

This season I tried out and made it on the Lake County Lightning 12U White team and I was so excited because they are going to Cooperstown!

I like to pitch and be the first baseman, and in my own opinion, I think I am a really good hitter.  My personal highlight this season was when my team won the end-of-season championship and I pitched 4 innings and struck out the final batter.

My favorite team is the Chicago Cubs and I look up to Anthony Rizzo.  He's thier first baseman and I even wear his number on my uniform; 44.  He is a good overall player just like me.

I also like Clayton Kershaw, a pitcher on the LA Dodgers.  He is another one of my favorite players and he pitches very good and I look up to that.

My parents are very proud and excited that I made the Lake County Lightning team and that I get to go to Cooperstown.  They told me how much it will cost and I was like, "Holy Cow, I don't have that much money in my whole life yet!"

My team is doing all kinds of fundraisers that will hopefully help out.  I told my parents I would do all kinds of chores to help any way I can.  I am hoping that maybe you'll help us out too so we can raise enough money to go to Cooperstown, which is my dream.

I will send everyone who donates an autographed picture of me in Cooperstown (hopefully right after I hit a homerun).  I know it's not much now, but maybe I'll be a famous baseball player in the future and it will be worth millions!!
