How many times would you let someone punch you in the groin before you pushed back?  How hard would someone have to bite your finger before you shook them off?  Well, that's exactly what happened to Hunter on the night of October 2, only in this case the groin-punching finger biter called the cops, and is claiming that Hunter comitted an unprovoked assault and now he is in the Sacramento County Jail facing felony charges.  Anyone who knows Hunter would realize that he would have had to have been pushed pretty hard to even defend himself....he is a gentle, sweet soul who loves music, animals and his family. Despite the fact that his life has not always been easy,  Hunter has never before been in trouble with the law, not even a jaywalking citiation!  Now he is sitting in jail, and since he does not come from a wealthy family, he has no way to defend himself from the exaggerated, if not out and out false, allegations of his accuser.  He has been assigned a public defender, but is not allowed to let any of his family be part of the discussions, and since he is so young (just 18) and has no knowedge of the workings of the judicial system, we are afraid he is  being given bad advice by a system more intersted in expediting the process than in acheiving justice

Hunter his not a bad kid.  He is a kid who has overcome a difficult upbringing to become a caring, kind and compassionate young man. His kindness has led him to get involved with a disturbed individual whom he thought he could fix with his love, and who has inexplicably turned on him.  Sending him to prison will accomplish nothing but expose him to a side of life he does not need to experience.  He  wants to finish his education and persue a career, possibly in computer science or healthcare. We are hoping that with good legal representation, the court will agree to probation and counseling, instead of a felony conviction and prison time, and give him the opportunity to start over in a healthier environment.  The only thing that would be accomplished by a prison scentence is that this gentle young man become hardened and exposed to a real criminal element.  A felony conviction will forever stain his record, negatively impacting his ability to be a contributing and productive member of society.  He is far too young to have his life irrevocably altered in this manner.  Please contribute whatever you can so that Hunter does not have to go to prison!  Hunter (on the right) with his brother and sister at The Happiest Place on Earth. He is a gentle giant who still loves visiting Mickey Mouse!
