Thank you for taking the time for coming to my GoFundMe page and
reading it. I started this page in hopes of finding some help in
getting my daughter Kailaini back from her father, who she is supposed
to be living with but is living with his mother and not him. His
mother is the reason that he filed for custody, because he had always
wanted a daughter but got all boys, so she is using my daughter. The
only reason that he has custody of her is because he had filed for
custody in Iowa, where he lives, and I never recieved any courtpapers
about it so I never knew about the custody hearing and missed it and
he won by default, since I wasn't present in court. They took her
right out of my arms with no time to say goodbye to her or anything.
My daughter and I were both crying for each other as her father
continued to take her away with the officer blocking my path.
Since he has had her out there, she has basically lived with his
parents and not with him. He has been moving from friends home to
friends home sleeping on their couches and he does not have his own
place. He has gone through a few jobs and is incapable of keeping one
due to his back problems, which he will not get help for. I believe
that he is unstable and unfit to care for Kailani due to his addiction
to prescription drugs and other drugs. He is incapable of taking care
of himself, let alone taking care of a 3 year old. I, on the
otherhand, have a secure job, even if it is only minimum wage, and
have a place to stay and I am very capable of taking care of my daughter.
I worry about the well being of my daughter because his mother,
who my daughter is staying with, is an alchoholic and has physically
threatened me before with my daughter in the same room. I recently
received a letter from his mothers lawyer petioning for gaurdianship,
which I will never grant. I do not know where my ex is now, as I have
not heard from him for over a month and I have not talked to my
daughter either, which breaks my heart. I believe that he is in jail
due to something that I have been told recently by people that know
him in Iowa.
I have already filed papers to the court in order to get full
custody of Kailani. However, I am struggling to get money together to
buy the plane tickets that I will need to go out there to bring her
back here to Southern California, where I live. I am trying to save
what I can from each of my paychecks but havent been able to save much
because I have to buy parts for my car to keep it running to get to
and from work to keep getting paid.
So I am reaching out to all of you in hopes that someone will be
able to help in my time of need. I hate asking for help but I have no
other choices at the moment. I have nothing of value that I could sell
to make any money from. Every little bit will help me in my fight to
get my daughter back. Please share my page so that it may reach others
