In June 2013, the North Indian state of Uttarakhand experienced torrential rainfalls which caused devastating floods, landslides and widespread destruction. It has been India’s worst natural disaster since the 2004 tsunami, killing nearly 6,000 people and destroying bridges, roads and housing for tens of thousands of people. The Indian Air Force and Army have evacuated more than 100,000 people from the flood ravaged area. Please donate now to my fundraising drive called “Friends of Rahat” to aid in the long-term disaster recovery efforts.
