Jag, my 8 year old pitbull has torn his ACL, Southside Animal Hospital in San Antonio TX is who will do the surgery, I am currently stationed 1300 miles from my normal vet who wouldn't be able to do this surgery anyways. They will give me a 10% ... More ...
Jag, my 8 year old pitbull whom I've had since 10 months old. He was rescued from Breeders who didn't want him because he was a runt, my daughter had seen him many times and asked about him, he was living in a 4x4 cage with no roof, no shelter, the breeders gave him to my daughter without issue and she brought him to me. Jag has been my side kick ever since, even through 2 deployements and working 24 hour shifts with EMS when I am not on active duty he never fails me, and I won't fail him.

What Jag has is A rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) , he basically has torn his ACL.

And the surgery he needs is the tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO). In this procedure, a portion of the tibia is cut, moved, and reattached to a different portion of the tibia using plates and screws. By changing the conformation of the tibia, the joint is stabilized. This is a technically difficult surgery but it has shown to produce excellent results, often with less arthritis. This surgery is especially recommended for dogs over 50 pounds in weight. The recovery period is similar to that with the other surgical procedures

I normally would not ask for money but the surgery is going to cost 2700-3200. Of course South Side Animal Hospital In San Antonio TX will give me a 10% discount. I have already raised 368.00 off Fundrazr.

I have taken him to the Naval Air Station Vet Clinic, Windsor Park Clinic and Southside clinic here in Corpus and they all say the same thing.

There is a lower costing surgery but because Jag is over 40 lbs, no one will do it and I am told due to his weight it wont' last if I go with the lower cost surgery.
I do have a place to stay with a friend once we make that 2.5 hour drive.

Please anything will help me get my boy out of pain, for now anti inflammatories and pain meds are his friends, he won't even put his rear right leg down now, he eats laying down, and I usually have to carry him outside to do his business as he doesn't even want to get up.

I thank you for anything you can help us with.
