For a long time now, God has put a passion on my heart for African countries and poverty stricken places. With my knowledge and experience I've wanted to go on medical missions and use what I've been trained to do by assisting in surgeries, giving vaccinations, and educate people on the importance of personal hygiene. Sudan is one of the poorest countries in the world, with the median age being 18 and a life expectancy of 58. It's been known that in Southern Sudan the on-going war in kidnapping children and using them as soldiers (you might know them as the "invisible children") has been prominent. Even though we wont be focused in that specific direction, improving health care in that region improves the welfare of the country as a whole. They are in constant need of medical supply and a better understanding of health care. An opportunity has come up to go with the organization, Partners in Compassionate Care, to Southern Sudan in March on a medical mission trip! I'd be able to serve in a huge way by using my skills and education. With my assistance as a surgical tech, the doctor I'd be working with would be able to schedule surgeries while I'm there. I would also have the ability to work in the clinic. Though I'd be able to assist in health care, my main objective is to simply love on the people. Sooo......I'm wondering if any one would want to support and help send me to Africa : ) The total cost I have to raise is $4,000. This includes: airfare, ground fees & housing, food, transportation, & vaccinations. I know this is a large sum but I'm only asking for what's in your ability to give, seriously anything helps!
