Perks
Last month I was sitting in a dental chair to have my teeth cleaned when I saw a small gauge the size of a quarter(28mm). It was calibrated to PSI. This sent my mind working. I thought, "If they can make a pressure gauge calibrated to psi then why can't they make one that is calibrated to torrs? " I went to work searching for a company that made a gauge calibrated to my specifications. Once I found the gauge I presented my ideas to an engineer and the PCTS was born! Now you can have all of the effective training of the original full-size CTS kit's aperture tool in a small metal silver-plated device that fits in your pocket. What is the difference between other small metal embouchure trainers and the PCTS? The shape of both devices is dictated by the human anatomy and the shape of a brass player's vibrating aperture, but the actual function of the PCTS is quite different. than the others. The PCTS is a hands-free device that promotes relaxation in the embouchure while building correct muscle coordination. If you are playing efficiently, the air dictates the tension. This is exactly how we exercise with the CTS because the tension in the muscle of the embouchure is dictated by the variable back pressure from the pressure gauge. With the CTS the muscles compress the air just as they do in the efficient embouchure therefore the CTS teaches correct muscular coordination while building embouchure muscles. The CTS works the muscle in a relaxed manner. The air dictates the tension. The PETE is also effective. It uses an isometric to build muscle, however, the muscles of the efficient embouchure work best without predetermined tension. Isometrics use static tension while lifting weights uses fluid motion to build muscle. This is the difference between Isotonic and Isometric exercise and the difference between The CTS and other metal embouchure trainers I am proud to offer you the CTS in a miniature form called the Pocket Compression Training System or PCTS. it will be available in both Silver and gold-plated zinc. Gold plating will be a special order. Plastic is not possible because the Stem of the PCTS is too hollow and susceptible to deforming with plastic injection molding for mass production. Plastic would be too brittle because of the hollow stem. The Pocket Compression Training System for brass instruments. Patent pending. The PCTS Is a reality!
