Our dearest friend Brook has been hospitalized in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, where she lives, with life threatening dengue fever. She has had dengue before, but the 2nd time one gets hit, it is a very serious illness. Right now her platelets are dangerously low.

Brook is a single mother to her 5 year old beautiful daughter  J, who has cerebral palsy. Brook is a Physical Therapist ~ always helping others ~ and works with clients in person and online and has been unable to work for the past week and bring in any income since she got sick with dengue. She and her daughter rely on her income to survive: pay rent, pay food, school, sitter etc. We are praying she will be okay, and of course she will have hospital bills as well to contend with in addition to getting her health back.

Being unable to work and therefore not getting any income is extremely stressful and not helpful to her recovery. As well, she has expenses that are associated with having a handicapped child, such as speech therapy and a caretaker. She has no savings to rely on.

We have provided emergency funding to pay for rent and other immediate essentials but are now asking the larger community of friends and well-wishers to please contribute whatever you can, as it all adds up, so that we can together hopefully help to ease her financial burden and allow her to focus on recovery to good health. She will have at least two weeks of rest and recovery needed once she gets home from hospital and having the support of community will allow her to do this.

Brook is not a person who asks for help. That is why we have set up this crowdfunding account up for her. We hope to provide help support her & J in a time of need.
