I fell into homelessness for a couple of years and used that time to educate myself on the resources that are available in the Bay Area. After lots of research I was able to connect with different agencies and even though it is a lengthy process, I was able to secure an apartment for my family so we could focus on making ourselves and our life better. Having a home took away a huge part of my stress, giving me more time to spend looking for a job. Covid made this difficult but not impossible and I was able to gain employment with 3 companies. In Dec I quit my overnight job when my boss asked me to be available to work full time instead of 2 days a week. I thought, 'wow this is great now I can be home more to support my family while the boys are going through their healing'. Christmas time we had a 2 1/2 week holiday, when it came to an end my boss called to tell me he was going to bring in another driver and that he was going to keep me at 2 days a week. Great. This call came as I was stuck in the middle of an intersection because my transmission went out in my car. With the last little of savings I had I bought yet another, lemon. The third vehicle in 2 years the seller cleared the dash of all codes so the vehicle would appear to be free of issues, the check engine light came on 17 hours after I bought it and now I can not put my current vehicle in my name.

I constantly encourage my boys telling them things like, ' you can accomplish anything you want to in life, whatever you want you can make it happen' and I truly believe this. One day I was looking for jobs and I realized all of these positive words really didn't mean anything because I was showing them the exact opposite. I was living my life holding myself back, depending on a manager at some company to hire me so we can survive. That is when I said no more, no waiting & depending on someone else to hopefully hire me. Right stay I changed how I was live and decided that I would run my life from now on instead of letting life run me. And I started a minor roadside assistance business. Spending time shadowing a professional associate of mine who has a towing company, he let me get more hands on experience to learn the things I didn't know about the industry. So far I have secured a location, have a business phone line & email and a business license. I would be working right now but I am without a vehicle to actually use. Since I never established good credit I'm unable to lease/purchase a work truck. Now we are at risk of being homeless again making each day more important than ever to get this business going. Good thing is I like to work and enjoy the hard/challenging obstacles women face in predominantly male industries. Many people call me stubborn, I say I'm determined 😁 As soon as I have a work vehicle I know I'm going to be successful with this business, the demand is extremely high for roadside assistance so it's not a question of 'if' it will be successful it's only 'when' will it be successful. 

There are times in life when we all need a little help and regardless of what that consist of everyone needs help at least once. Personally I'm the one who will say yes to almost anyone when they need help, even strangers. I like to be self sufficient (stubborn) and will rarely ask for help, right now I'm turning to the world and asking for assistance to help get my business rolling. To help with clearing my mind and soul from the stress of wondering where we are going to live. Help to show and prove to my boys that YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU WANT in life. 

I frequently say, "No matter what I have in life I always keep two things in my back pocket, integrity and a good laugh" If I am able to acquire a means of transportation through the help of people like you then I have no problem offering my services to you one time free of charge. If you need a tire change, you lock your keys in your car or if you have a dead battery then I will come save you when you are in Northern California.
