Legal Defense Fund

 Fundraiser

My name is Jamie LeBlanc and I am trying to raise money for a legal defense team to help bring my dad, Jeffrey Abramowski, home. My dad was wrongfully convicted of a crime that he did not commit , second-degree murder, after detectives coerced witnesses to commit perjury, committed perjury themselves, and presented zero credible evidence . Sadly, my dad has been unjustifiably incarcerated for over 18 years for this murder despite overwhelming evidence against the true perpetrators of the crime. At the crime scene, the detectives located blood and hair from the victim’s mistress and her adult son who were on very bad terms with the victim, which included death threats to the victim from the son. At the time of the murder, the mistress and her son had fled to another state with the victim’s belongings and stole jewelry and the victim’s car from his home. The first trial was declared a mistrial after a jailhouse informant told the court that they were trying to convict an innocent man. This informant told the court that the lead detective in the case promised him leniency and coerced him and another jailhouse informant to perjure themselves. The detective showed them crime scene photos and coached them into making false, incriminating statements against my dad. The other jailhouse informant also wrote to the courts to tell his story of the exact same nature where the same detective brought him to the crime scene, showed him crime scene photos, and told him what had happened so that he would falsely state that my dad confessed to him. Thankfully, this man also came forward with what happened and how the detectives were trying to frame my dad and convict an innocent man. In the trial, in which my dad was wrongfully convicted, there was no evidence presented that linked my dad to the crime, and the State used the actual perpetrators to falsely testify against my dad. The only evidence that convicted my dad was false DNA evidence that was inconclusive as being a match to my dad, but the jury believed the State when they falsely argued that the DNA contained a rare marker that my dad’s known DNA also contained. We learned afterwards that this marker is not rare and should not have provided support for a conviction. Furthermore, my dad was represented by an incompetent private attorney who convinced my dad that she would bring him home.  We found out nine years later, by her own admission, that she was mentally ill, off her medication, had only tried one minor felony case, had never before taken on a murder or DNA case, and was incompetent in her representation of my dad. Our court system subsequently denied an ineffective assistance of counsel claim stating it came too late. The state of Florida continues to deny every single motion or appeal filed by my dad pro se and have now sanctioned him from ever filing pro se again to prove his innocence.

My dad’s story has been featured on the award-winning podcast Murder on the Space Coast: "Where Justice Lies".  For more in-depth details of the entire case including the interrogation interviews please read the story and listen to the podcast here:  https://www.floridatoday.com/story/news/2019/01/15/jeff-abramowski-murder-space-coast/2579804002/

We are excited to announce that we are in the process of assembling a legal defense team to represent him after all of the torment that he has been through. This has been 18 years of injustice, heartbreak, and lost memories, and we hope and pray for your donations to reverse this injustice. Any and all donations will go directly to Jeffrey Abramowski’s legal defense team in order to help in all necessary steps to fight the absolute miscarriage of justice that my innocent dad has been through. Your help means more to us then you will ever imagine. Thank you so much.
