Funding for Judo tournament and training camp
My Story :
Let me give you the short version—I started doing Judo at the
age of 6 at the TuksJudo Club in LC De Villiers under coach Nikola
Filipov. At age 10 I stopped training, after a 7 year lay-off I
came back to the sport training at the same club under the same
coach. I’m competitive, I love the sport, and I excel at it. I
need someone to help open the door for me, so that I can walk
through it to show achievement and success. My coach and club have
qualified 7 Olympic Judokas so far, I'm hoping to one day
make the cut too.
Athletic Highlights 2018 :
• 2nd National Ranking, Silver and Bronze Medalist
- I fought in two categories at the National Ranking and I came
2nd in the Juniors and 3rd in the Seniors respectively.
• 1st Gauteng Regional Ranking, two time Silver Medalist
- I fought in two categories at the Gauteng Regional Ranking,
coming 2nd in both the Juniors and Seniors categories respectively.
• South African Open Championships, Silver and Bronze Medalist
- I fought in two categories at the South African Open
Championships, coming 3rd in the Juniors and 2nd in the Seniors respectively.
• 2nd Gauteng Regional Ranking, two time Gold Medalist
- I fought in two categories at the Gauteng Regional Ranking,
coming 1st in both the Juniors and Seniors categories respectively.
My short-term goal :
My main focus now is on the National Trials which are going to be
held in Cape Town, South Africa at the beginning of January 2019. My
aim is to qualify for the Senior African Championships which are
going to be held in South Africa in 2019. In order to do so, I would
need to be well prepared.
Reason for this campaign :
This campaign has
been opened by myself to raise the funds needed to enable me to
compete at the upcoming National trials which are being held in the
beginning of January 2019, in Cape Town, South Africa. So the funds I
am trying to raise would not only cover my tournament and training
camp expenses, but also the expenses for the National trials (the
entry fees, the compulsary training camp and first National Ranking
the day after the Trials). This is why I need your support. All
donations will directly help me fund my fees. Any left over funds
would be used to contribute towards upcoming competitions and
training camps. By contributing you will help me reach my goals, but
you will also take part in my journey to reach my short-term goal
and greater things in future.
