David Fleming hasn't added a story.
Nick Gormley passed away in Charlotteown, Prince Edward Island on July 30th, 2012 at the age of 28 years old after a tough battle with cancer. He fought long and hard and showed us his courage, inspiration and true spirit.
A number of Nick's close friends got together after his funeral and decided to do something we all did very often - play poker. We laughed, and told stories, and healed a little bit together.
On that day, an idea was formed - to take time when we can to get together and remember Nick, and to use the occasion to do something positive in his name.
We decided that day to establish a memorial award at the Nova Scotia Community College (his alma matter) for students who needed a little bit of help. The award was first given out in 2014 ($500 to student Arthur Fox) and we are asking for your support to keep it going in 2015 and beyond.
The money raised during this campaign will go towards a 2015 award, and if we raise over and above the amount requested, we will either up the award or put it towards one award for each semester.
Anyone interested in the balance left and status of the funds can email David Fleming at dfleming@gmail.com or call 1 (613) 793-8444.
