Our goal is to finish in the world's longest annual kayak marathon within the set time. We will experience a world class wilderness event on the Yukon River, a river so clean you can drink it! We want to do something in return, so that our adventure contributes to the entrepreneurial power of women elsewhere.

This is why we want to donate the equivalent of the race registration fee (4x 300€) to Water.org's women’s empowerment projects. Donations are kept in the FundRazr until after the race. We will will transfer the total amount as a Team Water.org donation upon our successful finish!

We hope that you will support us - your contribution will motivate us to keep going, knowing that we are on the river for women everywhere.

During the YRQ teams paddle a distance of 715 kilometres through the North Canadian wilderness. The Yukon River has very few roads access point, teams will be out of the sight and reach of other people for long periods of time. The ‘race to the midnight sun’ (this far North the sun doesn’t set in June) knows many extremes; with temperatures anywhere between 25 °C and below 0 overnight. The YRQ places high demands on our team and its equipment to be able to race self-sufficiently for several days and be capable of self-preservation in case of an emergency. The outdoor brands NIGOR  'Brings you to the most remote places' and Adventure Food 'For Intensive Outdoor Activities' are helping make our adventure possible by providing quality technical equipment & nutrition.

We are the only Dutch women's kayak team registered for the YRQ! All four of us are passionate alpinists with a love of outdoor sports in the broadest sense. We find our careers important too and we set equally ambitious professional targets. In short, we are a dedicated group of women who aren’t afraid to be challenged! We believe that “Empowered women will change the world.”

Ons doel is om binnen de gezette tijd de langste jaarlijkse kayakmarathon ter wereld te finishen. Wij zullen een wildernisevenement van wereldklasse beleven op de Yukon Rivier, een rivier zo schoon dat je hem kunt drinken! Wij willen echter ook iets terug doen, opdat ons avontuur bijdraagt aan de levenskwaliteit van minder bedeelde vrouwen.

Wij willen het equivalent van onze inschrijfkosten voor de race (4 x 300€) ophalen en geheel overmaken naar de emancipatiebevorderende projecten van Water.org! Donaties zullen worden bewaard in deze Fundrazr tot na de race. Bij een succesvolle finish zullen wij het geld overmaken als een Team Water.org donatie.

Wij hopen dat jij ons wil steunen - jouw bijdrage zal ons motiveren om vol te houden, wetende dat vrouwen overal baat zullen hebben bij onze Yukon River Quest.

Tijdens de YRQ leggen teams in maximaal 84 uur een afstand van 715 kilometer af door de uitgestrekte natuur van Noord-Canada. Naar de Yukon leiden maar heel weinig wegen, waardoor teams zich lange tijd buiten het zicht en bereik van andere mensen zullen bevinden. De ‘race naar de middernachtzon’ – in juni gaat de zon er niet onder – kent vele uitersten: overdag is het rond de 25°C, ’s nachts kan het vriezen. De YRQ stelt hoge eisen aan ons team en onze uitrusting om meerdere dagen zelfvoorzienend te kunnen racen en ons te redden in een noodgeval. Outdoormerken NIGOR 'Brings you to the most remote places'  en Adventure Food 'For Intensive Outdoor Activities' maken ons avontuur mede mogelijk door kwaliteitsuitrusting en voeding ter beschikking te stellen.

Tot nu toe zijn wij het enige Nederlandse vrouwenkayakteam dat zich heeft ingeschreven voor de YRQ. Alle vier zijn we gepassioneerde alpinisten met liefde voor buitensport in de breedste zin. Maar onze carrières vinden we ook belangrijk en we stellen ambitieuze doelen op professioneel gebied. Kortom, een gedreven groep vrouwen die een uitdaging aangaan!
