"Purlie Victorious" was written by Waycross native Ossie Davis in 1961.  It is a hilarious comedy targeting racial injustice and was previously performed in Waycross in 2002.  We were fortunate to have Mr. Davis himself attend the opening night performance.

Both Mr. Davis, and his wife, actress Ruby Dee, have both passed away since then.  We would like to honor his accomplishments and his memory by performing this classic comedy, set in Waycross, in our own local history museum, The Okefenokee Heritage Center.

The costs are minimum, primarily performance rights, lighting, and building a set.  Any amount is very much appreciated and we will be sure to recognize your help.
