As some of you may know, my dog Yukon passed away in early October. He was my sidekick and always came with me to the studio when I painted. He passed away very suddenly and left my boyfriend and I shocked and missing our friend.

Yukon was a rescue dog. We got him from WAGs (Whistler's animal shelter). He had been very mistreated in the past and was a very shy dog because of this. Thanks to WAGs though he was rescued from an abusive situation where he was found with  mange, missing teath, malnutrition, and a bullet in his side. WAGs took him back to their shelter, treated and loved him, and found him a new home (ours). Because of the area where WAGs is located, Yukon's story is not unique. They get a lot of dogs that have had abuse, and who without them would most likely not live very long.

Since Yukon's death, I have decided that I need to turn this situation around. SO, I am raising money for WAGs as a memorial for Yukon, and to help out dogs like him. 100 % of the funds will go to WAGs.
