Athena May hasn't added a story.
As a lot of you may have heard, on APRIL 22, 2014, my brother was taken into the ER for sharp stabbing pain in his head and uncontrollable vomiting! And the doctors found a tumor in his brain the size of an egg right on the part of the brain where memory, motor skills and speech are located. To relieve pressure they put him under and drilled holes in his skull. Then they decided to get the tumor out. They put him into a medically induced coma and prepped him for the operation. He was in surgery for 13 hours!!! There was a lot of bleeding and the tumor was entangled into deeper parts of his brain than could be seen on the scans. The doctor got 80% of the tumor removed but had to close him up to let his body rest. A few days later, Caleb started coming to a lil bit and so this was the real test to see if his memory was in tact and his speech and motor skills. His wife Jessica was there for every second of this and she showed him a picture of their 3 year old daughter nautika to see if he recognized and remembered her, he gave a thumbs up and tried to say her name!!! So that was excellent news! Caleb was doing so well that the doctor felt it best to try and go back in to try and remove the rest of the tumor. Caleb was then again back in surgery. This time it only took 6 or so hours. The doc could only get 10% of the tumor out due to the rest of the tumor being too entangled in the main artery if his brain. It was discovered that the tumor was benign!! oh thank God! And had apparently been growing for 9 years!!! After this surgery , my brother was finally getting his breathing g tubes out and most IV's out. He was still remembering stuff and trying to talk. His left leg wasn't wanting to work though... it was t looking very good but then one day he got up and walked!!! They all said it was a miracle!
After this they had to take him to surgery again to place another tube hole in the front of his skull. He did well during that as well!
After a little over a month later, my brother finally got released to go home!
And we are so happy so so happy he's alive and doing better. The harsh reality was waiting when he got home though that not only did his wife have to take all that time off work to take care of him and make decisions for him but while he was fighting for his life, his home he was working on for him and his wife and daughter to move into had a pipe burst and water logged the floors and the roof cave in completely snapping all the trusses. Now Unfixable and unlivable he is staying with his mom n law who's helping him out with recovery. Doctors orders were that he can't work for 6 months or lift anything heavier than 15lbs. Which leaves his wife soley to provide. The cost of living and medical expenses are just overwhelming. Caleb needs help, and fast. I know he will appreciate any gift you can give toward this cause. His family will too! Let's shower him and his wife and daughter with Love and support during this hard time. And Thankyou ALL for everything!
God bless you for your support!!!
