Scott was injured during a live-fire artillery training exercise that injured seven soldiers, two of them seriously, and another soldier lost his life.

The details and cause of the accident are being investigated.

Scott is a Specialist assigned to Ft. Bragg's Bravo Battery, 3rd Battalion, 321st Field Artillery Regiment.

Scott took most of the force of the blast to the lower portion of his face. shattering both his upper and lower jaws and his pallete, knocking out all of his teeth. He will need multiple surgerys over the next few years to restore his face to a semblance of normal.

His left eye additionally was damaged, the extent of that injury is yet to be determined.

Scott has a wife, Joy and a daughter who is nearly 3.

Scott is currently in Womack Army Medical Center on Ft. Bragg

The good news that Scott's prognosis is good. But it will take years.

The funds would be used for unforseen expenses along his road to recovery.
