There has never been a Messinian Stand at the Melbourne Antipodes Greek Festival's Lonsdale St Glendi. This year, with your help, we would like to change that. We are looking for Ten sponsors to donate AUS$100 each and help us fund a community stand in 2014, through this secure "Paypal" donation page.

With over 40,000 Greeks attending over the weekend of the 8th and 9th of February 2014, it is an opportunity to promote Messinia to all, and meet the older Messinians not on Facebook.

We will also be screening over two hours of our recently found historical footage of the pioneering Messinian Community from the 60s. The Stand will be supported on the weekend by our friendly Melbourne Messinian friends. This may be one of the last year that many of our elderly will attend a Greek festival, with grandchildren, as age makes mobility harder for them.

So we hope you can support us reach out to the Messinian Community.

On the possibility that there are access funds, moneys will go to the Battle of Kalamata ANZAC Day Remembrance Campaign.

Thank You

"The 2014 Lonsdale Street Festival, Melbourne’s largest Greek themed street party, takes over the street during the weekend of February 8 & 9. Headlining this year’s event is Kostas Makedonas, performing in Australia for the first time with Orhestra Emmetron, accompanied by Eirini Toumpaki.

The Lonsdale Street Festival, which is staged in the heart of the City of Melbourne’s Greek Precinct, attracts over 100,000 people across the weekend, who head to the street to enjoy two stages of free entertainment, an assortment of food stalls, children’s activities, cooking demonstrations and trader displays. Fully licensed and catered, the
Barbaresso Oyzo Ouzeri will be set up on street, offering a little Greek island bar experience in the centre of Lonsdale Street. Open all weekend it will be a cool little spot to relax from the bustle, and soak in some music from local DJs."
