George was born with a group of rare congenital birth defects (know as “VACTERL associations”), affecting his spine, feeding and limbs.

At birth he was unable to swallow or feed. His oesophagus, which is the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach, ended in a blind pouch at the level of his neck. Just one in 4,500 babies is born with this condition.

George has called hospital home for most of his short life and has already endured 6 surgeries, the first when he was 1 day old. He had major surgery day 101 when surgeons used part of his tiny stomach to bridge the long gap up to his oesophagus.

The Kruger Family are appealing to their local community to help get George where he belongs - home. The family need funds to purchase a special bed, feeding and monitoring equipment to be able to care for George at home. Funds will also help with petrol and parking on the frequent trips to hospital, and with a range of other treatments for George's condition.

All donations will be used in the aid, support and relief of George Kruger and his family. Your support is greatly appreciated!
