Ayúdame a levantarme y volver a caminar

Un accidente cambió mi vida. Hoy lucho por volver a levantarme, volver a caminar y volver a servir a Dios, a mi familia y al prójimo.

La noche que cambió mi vida

El 11 de marzo de 2026, después de terminar mi jornada laboral, emprendí el camino de regreso a casa como lo había hecho tantas veces.

Mi esposa Jenny y nuestros tres hijos me esperaban.

Nunca imaginé que aquel recorrido cambiaría mi vida para siempre.

Aproximadamente a las 10:00 de la noche, mientras caminaba por las inmediaciones del Parque Los Fundadores, en Villavicencio, Colombia, fui atropellado por un vehículo.

El conductor abandonó el lugar sin detenerse a auxiliarme.

Mientras permanecía gravemente herido sobre el asfalto, fueron personas que nunca había visto quienes decidieron detenerse para ayudarme y llamar a los servicios de emergencia.

Gracias a Dios ya la solidaridad de esas personas, hoy sigo con vida.

Pero desde aquella noche comenzó la batalla más difícil que él enfrenta.

"Porque yo sé los Planes que tengo para ustedes - afirma el Señor - Planes de bienestar y no de calamidad, a fin de darles un futuro y una esperanza." Jeremías 29:11

Quién soy

Mi nombre es Francisco Javier Correa Pérez .

Tengo 45 años .

Soy esposo y padre de tres maravillosos hijos: Samuel, Moisés y Jonás .

Durante más de quince años trabajó como ingeniero de sonido, productor de radio y televisión, desarrollador web y consultor en comunicación y marketing digital.

Siempre he procurado vivir con un principio muy sencillo:

Trabajar con honestidad, servir a los demás y confiar en Dios en cada etapa de mi vida.

Las consecuencias del accidente

Al llegar al hospital, los médicos confirmaron la gravedad de mis lesiones.

Sufrí:

• Politraumatismos severos.
• Fracturas múltiples en la nariz, la frente, el pómulo derecho y la región superior del ojo derecho.
• Traumatismos craneales.
• Lesiones graves en ambas rodillas.
• Lesiones importantes en un tobillo.
• Diversos traumatismos en otras partes del cuerpo.

Durante las primeras semanas se enfrentó a varias cirugías reconstructivas en el rostro y la cabeza.

Gracias a Dios, esa primera etapa pudo superarse.

Sin embargo, mi recuperación está lejos de terminar.

Todavía debo someterme a cirugías en ambas rodillas —comenzando por la derecha—, seguidas de un largo proceso de rehabilitación y fisioterapia para volver a caminar.

Cada avance representa un paso más hacia la vida que deseo recuperar.

Mi mayor motivación

En los momentos más difíciles encuentro fuerzas al mirar a mi familia.

Mi esposa ha llevado sobre sus hombros el cuidado de nuestro hogar, de nuestros hijos y también de mí durante todo este proceso.

Su fortaleza, su amor y su dedicación me recuerdan cada día que vale la pena seguir luchando.

En medio de esta prueba tan dura, donde enfrentado fuertes dolores físicos y una situación económica muy difícil, hay algo que nunca he perdido: la fe y la esperanza.

La gracia de Dios me ha sostenido en cada quirófano.

He podido experimentar Su amor a través de mi familia, mis amigos, mis hermanos en la fe y mis colegas de los medios de comunicación y de la música, a quienes nos han acompañado durante este proceso.

A todos ellos, gracias de todo corazón.

Hoy quiero invitarte a ser parte de mi recuperación

Durante toda mi vida creído que el trabajo, la perseverancia y la fe son el camino para superar cualquier dificultad.

Hoy enfrento un desafío diferente.

Las cirugías que aún debo realizarme, los tratamientos médicos, la rehabilitación, los medicamentos y el tiempo durante el cual no puedo generar ingresos representan un desafío económico que supera las posibilidades de nuestra familia.

Por eso hoy quiero invitarte a caminar conmigo durante esta etapa.

No para recorrer este camino por mí,

sino para ayudarme a recuperar las fuerzas necesarias para volver a recorrerlo por mis propios medios.

Y para seguir construyendo el futuro de mi familia con el fruto de mi propio esfuerzo.

Ese sigue siendo mi mayor objetivo.

HELP ME RECOVER AND WALK AGAIN

An accident changed my life. Today I am fighting to recover, walk again, and continue serving God, my family, and others.

The Night That Changed My Life

On March 11, 2026, after finishing my workday, I began my journey home, as I had done so many times before.

My wife, Jenny, and our three children were waiting for me.

I never imagined that journey would change my life forever.

At approximately 10:00 p.m., while I was walking near Parque Los Fundadores in Villavicencio, Colombia, I was struck by a vehicle.

The driver left the scene without stopping to help me.

While I lay seriously injured on the pavement, people I did not know stopped to help me and called emergency services.

Thanks to God and the solidarity of those people, I am still alive today.

But from that night on, I began the most difficult battle I have ever faced.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for well-being and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11

Who I Am

My name is Francisco Javier Correa Pérez.

I am 45 years old.

I am a husband and father of three wonderful children: Samuel, Moisés, and Jonás.

For more than fifteen years, I have worked as a sound engineer, radio and television producer, web developer, and communication and digital marketing consultant.

I have always tried to live according to one simple principle:

To work honestly, serve others, and trust God through every stage of my life.

The Consequences of the Accident

When I arrived at the hospital, the doctors confirmed the severity of my injuries.

I suffered:

• Severe multiple trauma.
• Multiple fractures affecting my nose, forehead, right cheekbone, and the upper area of my right eye.
• Head trauma.
• Severe injuries to both knees.
• Significant injuries to one ankle.
• Various traumatic injuries throughout my body.

During the first few weeks, I underwent several reconstructive surgeries involving my face and head.

Thank God, we successfully overcame that first stage.

However, my recovery is far from over.

I still need surgery on both knees — beginning with my right knee — followed by a long process of rehabilitation and physical therapy so that I can walk again.

Every step I take represents one more step toward the life I want to recover.

My Greatest Motivation

During the most difficult moments, I find strength when I look at my family.

Throughout this entire process, my wife has taken care of our home, our children, and me.

Her strength, love, and dedication remind me every day that it is worth continuing to fight.

In the midst of this difficult trial, where I have faced intense physical pain and a very challenging financial situation, there is something I have never lost: faith and hope.

God's grace has sustained me through every surgery.

I have experienced His love through my family, my friends, my brothers and sisters in faith, and my colleagues in the media and music industries who have accompanied us throughout this process.

To all of them, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
