Help Scarlett Protect a Peaceful Future for Her Daughter

For the past four years, my life has been defined by two very different experiences: the greatest joy I have ever known, and one of the most difficult battles I have ever had to fight.

The greatest joy is my daughter, Alessia. Becoming her mother changed my life in the most beautiful way. She is bright, loving, funny, and the center of my world. Everything I do is to create a safe, stable, and joyful life for her.

At the same time, nearly her entire life has been overshadowed by a painful and exhausting legal battle to protect both of us from her father’s abuse.

Leaving that relationship was only the first step. Since then, I have spent years navigating the court system to ensure safety and stability for my daughter and myself. There have been important victories along the way. I successfully obtained a three-year restraining order and was granted full custody of Alessia. These protections were critical for our safety and our peace.

However, those victories came at a tremendous cost.

Over the course of this fight, I have spent more than $30,000 in legal fees. In order to continue protecting my daughter and maintain a stable life for us, I was forced to leave my home in Los Angeles and move to Austin, Texas, where the cost of living is lower and I could try to rebuild.

I work hard every day to support us. I teach dance, pursue education, and do everything I can to build a stable future as a single mother. But despite doing everything in my power, the legal battle has not fully ended.

I am currently in another court process to establish our custody, support, and protective orders here in Texas so that they are fully recognized and enforceable in our new state. Without this documentation, my ex is still able to use legal loopholes to continue creating stress and instability for our lives.

So far, I have already paid $6,000 toward this stage of the case. In order to complete the process and secure the documentation that will finally bring greater stability and protection, I need approximately $8,000 more for legal fees.

My hope is that this will allow us to experience something we have never truly had during my daughter’s life: peace without constant court battles.

It is incredibly humbling to ask for help. I have fought for years to carry this burden on my own. But the reality is that the financial weight of protecting my daughter through the legal system has become too heavy for me to handle alone.
