Hello everyone, back in September 2025 I was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic leukemia. This news wasn’t just devastating, it was decapitating, and solely because this time it wasn’t a stranger, but an old enemy who knows exactly where my scars are. I had to put medical school, my social life, my dreams, my future all uncertain, all on hold. It’s been tough mentally and physically. I get this question often “what is chemotherapy like?” And honestly, it’s like having a severe constant flu but resting and taking medicine doesn’t heal you. Mix that in with the isolation and high dose prednisone and you got the trifecta of unimaginable. But despite all of that, I am still looking forward and putting a smile on my face every single day. However, lately things have been extremely hard. Unfortunately I got blindsided with a termination letter from anthem blue cross, my health insurance. I was on my mother's health plan however that ended due to her no longer working at her hospital. I am mid chemotherapy treatment and I need health insurance to continue receiving chemotherapy treatment, medications and mandatory procedures. The only option I have for same day coverage to continue weekly chemotherapy treatments is Cobra insurance which as you can imagine is extremely expensive. It covers up to six months of coverage which would be enough time to hopefully complete treatment and be in full remission or find other health coverage. Also I have copayments and procedure bills that are getting overdue and it’s getting to be a lot on me. So I’m humbly reaching out to ask for any help, so i can continue receiving treatment, and have a little stress taken off of me.
