My mom has worked hard for many years doing what she can to help homeless communities, indigenous communities, and has dedicated her life to various facets of social work and activism. She raised two kids by herself while being in poverty. My father passed away while experiencing addiction and homelessness when I was young, and she eventually married my stepfather who is now 80. She does what she can to look after him while still doing social work full time. Unfortunately she was told that in order to cover his dental care, she must pay 12 thousand dollars or go in to debt. Luckily, her work benefits cover some of it, but she still owes 8000$ which she does not have. 
she would never reach out like this for help as she feels like it would be burdening others, but the situation is desperate, so she has allowed me to do it for her. I know that she deserves much more than the hand she’s been dealt. Nobody should have to stress about such basic needs getting met.
