Roxie Olivero-Winfield hasn't added a story.
A lot of family and friends distant themselves because they didnt believe that Quan really had any medical complications, and comments were made that he was faking everything. Quan was determined to prove to family and even his doctors who didn't believe him that what he's going through is real, so he wrote into The Karamo Show at NBC to get a lie detector test. After going on The Karamo Show and proving to the world that he's been telling the truth, we went back to his primary neurologist with the results of his lie detector test. Interestingly, his doctor all of a sudden thought of a test to determine if Quan had a specific neurological condition.
After visiting multiple neurologists/specialists, numerous tests, and spending thousands of dollars, Quan recently received a diagnosis, Small Fiber Neuropathy. Sadly, there is no cure for this condition. While there are treatment options available, we're at a point where we need to bring our medical bills current in order for him to be able to visit his doctors and get the treatment he needs.
It truly breaks my heart to watch the pain and suffering that my husband goes through, especially knowing this is a condition he'll deal with for the rest of his life. I'm terrified that Quan will lose his ability to walk as his condition continues to progress. I miss the happy, positive, upbeat, comedic, energetic, motivated Quan and he misses all of that too. We miss him being able to participate in family gatherings, playing basketball and video games with our son, doing crafts and goofing around with our daughter, going shopping, and going out to eat as a couple and family.
I pray for my husband every day and I do the best I can to help him live a fulfilling life. We have two amazing children who help care for him, and they really step up when I'm at work. My husband homeschools our children to give them the best education possible and does the absolute best he can each day to help around the house. Even if he's feeling incredibly weak and fatigued, he pushes himself to do more to help. My husband has a heart of gold, he's an amazing person and he doesn't deserve to go through all of this pain and suffering. I just want him to get the treatment he needs.
We've already incurred significant medical expenses and more doctors appointments, tests, and medications means even more expenses. I'm sincerely asking for donations towards my husband's medical expenses. I request that everyone please share this story with others to help us get even more donations. I'm very grateful for any donation and I pray that those who are able to donate receive an abundant amount of wealth for being so giving. 🙏 Thank you for your generous support and contributions.
