Brave Little Company is Theatre for Everyone. We create work about, with, and for, all of Houston’s kids and their grown-ups. In 2023, we received the National Award for Artistic Innovation from TYA/USA.
We want the stories told in Houston to reflect the diversity of Houston. People who come to the U.S. as refugees, asylees, and immigrants do not always get to tell their story to a citywide audience. We are trying to change that.
THE BIG "US" PROJECT is a collaborative theatre piece led by 100 people from Houston's refugee and immigrant communities. Houston is a major destination for refugees worldwide. This year, over 80 performers will create and perform adaptations of stories they want to tell on Jan. 20 and Jan. 22 at the Southwest Multi-Service Center and The MATCH.
Participants are from more than 10 countries of origin. Some are professional performing artists and/or writers; others are performing for the first time. All artists age 16+ are paid to take part.
To support us, you can give any amount starting at $5. We have suggested some levels and outlined the costs they can cover.
If we can raise $4,000 in this fundraiser we will be able to access an additional $1,000 in matching funds! Help us pay for our expanded adult cast, food and transportation expenses, and professional space rental!
