Mike is a family man, not just towards his own family but to his friends and many in the city of Niagara Falls, NY. Mike will give his last to anyone who asked, he freely gave to those who he felt needed help without them even asking, and never expected anything in return. We live in an area with high poverty and Mike would frequently say that he is blessed enough to be able to give and hopes that if it was ever needed one day someone would look out for him.
Mike gets along with people of all ages, races, and backgrounds. He would talk to anyone and a quick “hello” turned into an hour-long conversation, not just with friends but strangers that turned into friends.
In an unforeseen circumstance, Mike was involved in an altercation where self defense was being his last and only resort in one of the toughest states for gun laws and self-defense - New York State. NOW MIKE IS FIGHTING FOR HIS FREEDOM. He is fighting a uphill legal battle and he needs our help.
It is critical and our heart’s plea for Mike to be able to get the best legal representation to fight and defend his case to ensure he is heard and represented in the fairest possible way to win back his freedom.
Due to the seriousness of this offense, his legal fees will be more than we can personally handle. The judge granted him bail but the bail amount is astronomical and unaffordable. We are asking for any help that you can provide to assist us with obtaining proper legal representation so we can fight the charges and clear his name.
Mike is a good man and an upstanding citizen. The citizens of Niagara County and beyond have echoed this sentiment. Many within the community immediately spoke out regarding how this situation does not align with Mike’s character. They spoke up as character references in sheer disbelief that Michael Hamilton was facing these types of charges. The community has been supportive and outraged that this is Mike’s current plight. There has been over 400 comments within our local city social media platform in support of Mike and over 3,000 comments worldwide in support of Mike being properly and legally represented to assist in his defense.
Mike has worked hard for what he has obtained - his family, his job, his good reputation, and now must work even harder to keep it. This accusation has negatively impacted him but we will do everything in our power to help clear his name.
