Greetings!  My nickname is Pim.

Please help me go to an international conference about Earth science.  The conference is organized by the European Geosciences Union (EGU).  Topics include climate change, the ocean, biodiversity, soil and the environment.  You can learn more about the conference here:  https://www.egu22.eu/

The conference will take place in Vienna, Austria – a long way from home.  Your contribution will help me pay for important expenses:

• Round-trip train tickets: 300€
• Conference registration: 130€ (already paid)
• Accommodation: 300€ for six nights
• Other (e.g., meals, local trams): 160€ for six days

The total, then, that I wish to raise is 890€.

So let me tell you more about my project.

I have two papers accepted at the conference.  I will present one of them with my colleagues from Barbados, Brazil, Italy and Iran.  The topic is how you can learn about climate change.  You can see the outline here:  https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU22/EGU22-1656.html

My professional goal is to help young citizens learn about our Earth, about the environment and about the impacts of climate change.  So, the conference will help me reach my goal.  I will also meet scientists working in these areas.  The conference will be a great opportunity for me to learn about their work and professional experiences – also important for my future career.

A bit of who I am:  I am a geography student in France.  I am originally from Thailand and I have been living in France for eight years.  I love nature and mountains, and I have walked the Tour du Mont Blanc.  I am engaged in environment and ecological activities.  Three years ago, I helped a local educational and environmental association raise awareness of young citizens.  I have completed several online courses on climate change.  I speak three languages and also play the violin.
