Background – A&E Documentary
Since my episode aired on A&E Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, I have received many requests from people who offered to help towards my legal costs. The outpouring of love and support that I have received is both appreciated and overwhelming.
I ask for your financial support due to a legal situation that I have landed myself in. I related the complete story on an A&E documentary called “Leah Remini: Scientology and The Aftermath”. This is the link to A&E’s website which has the documentary: http://www.aetv.com/ which I highly recommend. They are very enlightening about the Church of Scientology’s behavior and it would help you better understand my situation and thisrequest for financial aid.
I wish to thank producers Leah Remini, Mike Rinder, Alex Slauson and of course, A&E for providing me the opportunity to tell my story. I got to know all 3 people and they are all extremely compassionate.
Last April in the middle of the night when no one was around, I threw a hammer through a window of one of the Church of Scientology’s buildings. No one was injured and no intent to harm anyone was ever made. I do not have any previous acts of violence throughout my entire life. I was arrested for vandalism. I deeply regret throwing the hammer thru their window and know I was wrong in doing so.
Extenuating Circumstances
Even though I have deep remorse for my actions, there were a few tragic incidents that contributed to my mental meltdown and committing such an act including after this hammer incident that I was diagnosed with a pre-existing Bi-Polar condition.
I was self-employed at the time and part owner of a company that for over a year with no income and just before my breakdown it closed. I was devastated.
Another situation that greatly affected my mental stability at the time is that my younger brother Craig, who I love so dearly, quit communicating with me and my entire family.Craig changed his phone number, moved and we haven’t heard from him now in over a year. To this day,we don’t even know where he lives. This is part of the Church of Scientology’s disconnection policy, to quit communicating to anyone who is against the church.
A few months before my hammer throwing incident, I worked part time for the Church of Scientology. They wanted me to disconnect from my entire family. I refused. I had nearly 50 Scientology friends at the time and within a few days of my refusal to follow their disconnection policies, all of them had unfriended me on Facebook and I haven’t heard from any of them since. I lost about 50 friends, overnight.
So, between my undiagnosed bi-polar condition, losing my brother – perhaps forever, my business collapsing and losing nearly 50 friends, it was a bit too much for me to handle.
Current Situation
My court case is now over. I have been convicted of a Felony of vandalism to a house of worship. Since I was previously self-employed in a failed company where I wasn’t paid in a year, I have had to borrowmoney to pay for 2 different attorney fees, court fees, penalties, bail and paying the church back for the broken window. Needless to say, I owe a lot of money. Some of the fees are still being paid off monthly where they provided that opportunity to me.
Thank You
I want to thank you in advance for your understanding, kindness and generosity should you decide to donate. It will help me tremendously and will allow me pay back those caring people that I owe. Your help is very much appreciated.
