Ernest Muiruri was born in 1975 in Nairobi of Kenya. At the age of 9, he and his brother –Daniel Muiruri– left for Greece with a missionary program of the Orthodox Church.

In 1994, after an economical scandal, the Archbishop suddenly decided for all the children who participated in the program to return to their homelands.

Ernest, along with his brother, managed to escape and remain in Greece where he successfully graduated from theSchool of Law Economics at the University of Athens. During that time he had always been working and looking after his brother as a parent.

Since 2002, the two of them had been living and working in Zakynthos island. There, Ernest was an active member of both the Greek and the foreign society. He was always trying to help friends and family that trusted him by offering from his own. He used to be an optimistic survivor who shared his energy and made everyone around laugh, affecting that way the life of many people who kept going back to the island just to visit him.

On the 11th of September in 2014, though, Ernest was stabbed by his Greek associate at work and partner in life, thus causing his death. His friends in Greece as well as his family in Kenya were devastated. He is buried in Greece with a future perspective of his remains to be carried to Kenya.

Daniel, being his closest relative in Greece at the moment, is trying to "return the favor" to his brother by assuring a fair trial that will sentence the murderer. He has only been informed about the date of the first trial the previous week which is set for the 6th of October. Because of the seriousness of the case, the legal financial cost is extremely high. An amount of 5,000€ has already been spent and another 4,000€ is yet to be needed in the future.

Unfortunately, with the Greek unemployment rates being the highest in Europe, Daniel has been left without a job for the last year and a half. Moreover, after a severe accident, his mobility is impaired, and with no insurance paying for the necessary surgery and therapy, it is even harder for him to get employed.

With no income whatsoever to cover the legal expenses, Daniel is kindly asking for your own financial support. Without it, he will not be represented by an attorney of his choice thus offering the accused woman an undisputable advantage Worse, he will not be able to attend the first trial of his brother’s murderer at all and serve as a witness.

For the time now is limited, the fundraising will run for 15 days with the hope to reach the financial goal as soon as possible.

Since Ernest is no longer with us, with your own help he will “enjoy” a fair and decent trial and the woman who killed him will be convicted. Even your own slightest contribution will represent the rise of our hopes that justice at least will be restored.
