Sweet Maggie May was found by her foster mommy, after being lost for 9 whole days! Maggie Mae suffered ligament tear, soft tissue damage, missing tissues, and infection. She is being treated, and will need surgery. The total cost is estimated to be at least $1500.00.
Upon being found 3/3/15, her foster mommy wrote: “It was amazing!!! Around 8pm we had two sightings of her across the highway from where she escaped nine days ago. A group of us had no luck combing the streets looking for her, so I decided to camp out in front of the house. George A. Kracker even set up a tent for me . :) I drifted in and out of sleep for hours, worried about her crossing the road, AND THEN... sometime after 2am, she came limping up to the van and told me she was VERY ready to go home!”
For those that are new to Maggie Mae’s plight, she went missing 9 days ago, was hit by a car, and ran into the woods behind the old Carrs in Palmer. A core group of volunteers took up the vigil/mission. They searched tirelessly for Maggie Mae. Well-meaning citizens kept on eye out, looked, and reported potential sightings. Social media took on the plight to the tune of over 500 “shares.”
The worst was feared. The best was found. With this united effort, Maggie Mae has been brought to safety. And now, we are asking for the good animal lovers of Alaska to take a stand, and help with this sensitive girl’s vet bills. They have been estimated to be at least $1500.00. Maggie Mae’s foster mommy and group of people are so relieved that their beloved girl is safe. But now there is a vet bill that needs to be covered. Everyone, let’s take this stressor off of them!
