My hope with this fundraising project is to raise money to attend a speakers/writers conference and publish my first book.

In a time span of 12 years, I have had many encounters with God, pushing me to serve Him in a certain capacity. During that time I have felt the ultimate call to speak publicly; however, it has only been within the last 7 years that I have felt called specifically to write this book.

After pushing away this call for many years, I have finally come to the realization that I must do as God calls me to do. The topic that has come to the forefront of my mind for the last seven years is fear. We have all felt it in some capacity, whether we are afraid of spiders or of being alone; however, God's Word says that we are not to live in a spirit of fear.

"Conquering Fear" will examine many different types of fears, what God says about them, and often provide supporting stories of individuals or groups of people who have overcome those fears through Christ. It is only with God's help that we can overcome these things and live the life He has intended for us.

This project will provide the funds needed to help me write, revise, edit, publish, and market this book as well as receive further education on speaking and writing to best reach my audience.  $3,500 should allow me to pay for the writing/speaking conference I would like to attend as well as to publish the book with Westbow Press.

I will be focusing my time on this book, working wholeheartedly on this project, putting the time and effort needed to write the book, research where necessary, and eventually have the book published. I am hoping this will allow me to complete the book within a year and have it published in hard copy within a year and a half.

Risks and challenges

The biggest risk to this project is that the book would be a flop. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I am trusting that it will result in a positive outcome. With my college education in Professional Writing, I believe I will be able to write in a way that keeps the reader interested and will limit the need for extensive editing. I also have 4+ years of experience in marketing and advertising, which will allow me to better market "Conquering Fear." My blog will help in this endeavor.
