BENEFITING: Brian Stump and the Vozza Family

STORY:
On November 15, I am running the Richmond Half Marathon in support of Brian Stump and in memory of Carmine Vozza. Please read their stories below and consider donating to worthy causes! The total donation amount will be split between the parties.
Brian Stump: My Uncle, Brian Stump was diagnosed with
Polyarteritis Nodosa (PAN), a very rare and very terrible disease
affecting a person's medium and small-size arteries and causing a lack
of blood flow to critical areas of the body. Brian has been recovering
remarkably from surgeries and chemotherapy. The good news is that his
latest round of chemo is over. The bad news is that his chemo
treatments are being denied payment by his insurance company because
he does not have cancer. If he had cancer, chemo treatments would be covered.
As you can imagine, chemo is an expensive procedure and whether
he is fighting the insurance company or paying for it himself.
Donations will go towards funding Brian's chemotherapy treatments and
helping him make a full recovery from this awful disease.
The Vozza Family: On October 30, an amazing person
passed away and is onto his next stage of life. Carmine Vozza was
someone who brightened the day of everyone whom he was around. He was
one of the most genuine and caring people I knew and his enthusiasm
for life was contagious. Carmine was suddenly diagnosed with an
aggressive brain tumor that caused irreversible swelling and brain
damage. He was placed on life support and did not see any progress.
Carmine fought a good fight and he is in a better place now.
As you can imagine this has been and will continue to be very
tough for The Vozza family, especially Carmine's wife, Christina. I am
running in support of Christina and the couple's 2 month old baby
girl, Roma May. The tragic passing of Carmine left a wife without a
husband, a daughter without a father, a mother and father without a
son, and hundreds of friends without this special individual.
