Caine is an 11 year American Bulldog i rescued from being euthanized after his owner passed away of cancer over a year ago.Caine is the most amazing and loyal dog i have ever rescued but because he has to be the only pet and because of his age i have had no luck finding him a home:(
I have been fostering Caine for over a year in my house with my 5 other dogs,two cats and rabbit. I have rotated him every single day to give him time out with us and to not be cooped up so much. It has been really hard and is about to get even harder as we are expecting our first baby in October. I have no spare room to keep Caine in so the only option is to move him into our bedroom.
Finacially it has been really hard to foster Caine as well,when i rescued him i was also still rescuing other dogs and the donations continured. Once i got down to just Caine and stopped rescuing because of my pregnancy they stopped.
Caine has IBS and has had to have multiple trips to the vet along with expensive tests to figure out why he wont gaine weight after all of this time. Even after $300.00 worth of testing the cause can not be found and we have chalked it up to his IBS. He can only eat 1 kind of food wich cost over a dollar a can,Caine eats 3 cans a day! Also he is on metronidazol and tramadol for life,his metronitazol alone is 1 dollar a pill adding up to Caine costing 4 dollars a day just to care for.
I love Caine so much and will make it work regaurldless because i would never give up on him but i am struggling,i have been struggling for the past 7 months to continue to afford his care on my own. I have received over 500 in donations a few months ago and that was a huge help but it just doesnt last long especially after several medical tests to find out what was wrong with him. I would never let him go without,this dog is one amazing boy.
I am just setting this up encase anyone would like to help,as it will help me and my family out tremendously. I just want Caine to have all he needs and to be able to give him the best that i possibly can even in this situation we are in with the rotating,id do it another year if i have to because i commited to Caine and he deserves the best i can give him.
