About Our Project (the short version)

The aim of the project is to enable up to 10 young women from Cyprus between the ages of 18-25 to further their education, learn a sought after trade, be able to open their own small business, and become financially independent.

Each participant will receive a maximum of €500 in scholarship funds that will go towards the total cost of the course which is €750 per participant

Our company will donate €1 for every €2 that is donated! 

Our company is committed to providing the additional funds needed for each successful candidate (€250 per candidate) to enroll and complete the Nail Technician course.

About The Nail Technician Course

AC Skin Care Solutions Ltd has been providing further education and Nail Technician courses in Cyprus for over 15 years.

All Nail Technician courses utilize the state of the art CLARISSA E-NAIL products from Choice Laboratories SRL Italy.

What makes our Nail Technician program unique is, in addition to the high level of proficiency attained by our students, that upon completion of the course, each student receives all equipment and tools necessary to start practicing their new trade right away.

Specifically each student receives.

• A complete starter kit worth €500 (including a professional nail heater/oven)
• A nail station (complete with lamp) worth €350

As such, upon completion, the students need not purchase any additional items or supplies for quite some time, and then only after they start earning their first money.

With the successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion from Choice Laboratories SRL of Italy.

All courses are taught by Master Trainer of Aesthetic Applications Ms. Xanthi Dimou

Cost of the Program

The regular cost of the program is €750 for the 4 day course. As we plan to offer the amount raised as scholarships for 10 under privileged women from Cyprus (€500 each scholarship for a total of €5000), our company will contribute the additional €250 needed (for a total of €2500) for each student in order to fund the course completely.

If more funds are collected than the initial target, the funds will be used for additional scholarships

Eligible Participants

Our ideal candidate to receive the scholarships will be

1. Young women
2. Cyprus citizenship
3. Between the ages of 18 - 25
4. who will meet certain criteria in regards to family income.

In particular, the family income should not exceed €18,000 per year and participants should be declared as a dependent on income tax declarations. Official income tax and social security certificates will be asked to be furnished by all interested applicants.

Planned Launch of the Project

The Project will begin the first or second week of October, 2014, depending on the number of applications received and the selection process.

Why We Care About This Project

The current state of the economy in Cyprus is no better than the one in Greece. Currently there are over 100,000 unemployed persons, with unemployment figures for ages 18-27 as high as 44%. (official Eurostat/Cyprus government figures, the unofficial figures are of course higher)

By far the class which is most vulnerable and faces the most challenges in finding work placement, adequate salary, fairness in employment, etc is young women.

As such our aim is to provide the means to a number of participating young women to further their education and become financially in-depended, through the learning of a trade such as Nail Technician (a very popular and sought after service in Cyprus).

In short our aim is to "Teach a Trade - Provide a Future"

Your Contribution Counts!

The importance of your contribution - big or small - is enormous! Your contribution will enable up to 10 women between the ages of 18-25 to further their education and,

• learn a sought after trade,
• be able to open their own small business,
• and become financially independent.

Please keep in mind that that our commitment is to provide the additional funds needed for each successful candidate (€250) to enroll and complete the Nail Technician course.

What We Need

Our aim and hope, is to be able to provide full scholarships for 10 young women between the ages of 18-25, who otherwise would not have the financial ability to do so.

Our target is €5000 which divided by the 10 participants amounts to €500 per participant.

The total cost for each participant is €750, and as such our company is committed in contributing the additional €250 (33% of the total cost) needed to cover the entire cost.

Again let us stress that if more funds are collected than the initial target, the funds will be used for additional scholarships

WHAT IF We Do Not Reach the Entire Target?

In the event that the target of €5000 is not reached in full, any funds collected will still be offered in the form of scholarship(s) and our company will still contribute the €250 ( 33% of the cost).

For example, if the total sum collected is €250 our company will contribute another €250, and the applicant will only need to pay-out-of-pocket €250.

Another example, if the total sum collected is €750 this means that 1 candidate will receive full scholarship (our company will contribute another €250), and the remaining €250 will be offered as another scholarship (with our company contributing another €250) and the 2nd applicant paying out-of-pocket €250.

Basically, all funds collected, no matter what amount, will be put forth to be used as scholarship funds.

Of course, not reaching our target is not our goal, nor do we want to embark on this project with the aim of having to impose on the candidates to pay any amount since this will place financial hardship on them and their families.

First and foremost you will get the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped 10 young Cypriot women to further their education, attain their dream and assist them in their first steps on their journey toward financial Independence.

Apart from that, you will be kept informed of the progress of the project through regular posting on our facebook page and website.

Finally, depending on contribution levels you will receive additional thank you incentives

Risks & Challenges

The only risk with our project is that people may not get involved and no funds are raised towards providing the 10 scholarships for young women that need them.

Our company has committed to contributing 1/3 of the cost (€250 per participant) to help get this project off the ground and make it a reality.
