Otis is a 4 year old rescue brindle pit bull who lives in California. He was taken home from a little box and has never looked back since. Saturday (May 17th) Otis was playing on his favorite playground & tore the cruciate ligament. This connects the the thigh bone with the lower leg bone &  stabilizes the stifle joint. The stifle joint is pretty much like a human knee.

The lovely doctor at Encia Vet Hospital in Concord, CA has informed us of the best option for Otis's breed & age. As quickly as possible he will have the tibial plateau leveling osteotomy - TPLO. During surgery the Dr. will make a curved cut in the top of the tibia bone. The tibial plateau is then rotated along the curved osteotomy in order to level the slope. A plate and screws are used to hold the tibial plateau in place so that the bone can heal in its new position.

All of our facebook furiends on Etta & Otis have asked us how they can help. The hospital here in California does not have a payment plan option. We know we will never raise $5,000.00 but anything and everything can help. <3 Hugs & Kisses - Otis
