Owen's story is a very sad one. We first met the little guy in July 2013 when he arrived at a Crowded Chicago Area Open Door Shelter . He immediately stood out to us because of his missing ears! A dreadful home crop job was done on this poor boy!! In no time at all we came to LOVE Owen and his exuberant and loving personality, he was instantly deemed a volunteer favorite! We were elated when we found out in December that Owen was being adopted into a seemingly perfect home with another dog and two kids. Owen loves to play with dogs and kids! We thought he was living the dream until we found out that he was returned just two weeks later to the shelter by a good woman who saw him posted on craigslist as FREE TO GOOD HOME. She scooped him up to save him from the Craigslist horrors to which so many pitties fall victim. Since being back at the shelter, Owen has had his tail removed, so he now has no ears, no tail, no home- not even a cage on the adoption floor. He has been through Hell, bounced around back and forth and remains a sweet, happy loving boy. The thought of him never getting the break he deserves kills us! Thankfully Its A Pittie Rescue has offered to take him as soon as they can find a foster home for him. We need to help IPR help Owen transition into the awesome dog we know he is and to do so we are raising funds to send with Owen for expenses. Please share Owens story and donate if you can!
