Headrockdogs Rescue hasn't added a story.
Dilly has been in hospital for 2 weeks and I was so happy to be able
to visit her yesterday. I was very concerned seeing some recent
pictures of Dilly looking miserable and seemingly thin. When I first
called her she looked at me unbelievingly and then went crazy jumping
all over the place.
. I was elated to see how strong she was and that she was holding up
her front leg proving she can feel it. Yesterday I, or should I say,
YOU our wonderful supporters paid an interim bill of 14.500 baht. The
vet explained that Dilly has been having laser treatment every day
which is helping the healing process considerably. The picture below
shows her wound is closing well but they are still not able to stitch
the skin graft again.
He said once the wound has healed another 50% following laser
treatment they'll be able to stitch it up. I was happy to see how pink
and healthy the wound looks.
The vet described the wound as
initially being extremely deep running almost the entire circumference
of her chest area. Happily now it has almost healed internally
leaving just the area seen in the picture. Dilly will need another 2
weeks of hospitalisation with daily laser treatment before she'll be
ready for her last operation. The
deep wound in her left leg has almost healed and with the help of
physiotherapy she will almost certainly be able to walk on it again..
Dilly had a blood test yesterday as she's not eating well although she
loved her treats. The vet showed me the results and she has low blood
platelets which could be due to blood parasites. This is a recent
development as her blood was good on admission. However with a low
imune system and being in a hospital environment for so long it is
easy contract infection or re-infection.
Dilly had a near fatal attack of blood pasasites earlier this year and
she is now being treated with Doxycycline. Dilly's recovery still has
some way to go and her laser treatment is expensive so we are asking
you wonderful supporters to help us raise another 300.00 poounds. If
you can donate just 5.00 or 10.00 pounds that would be fantastic. My
heartfelt thanks all of you who have donated to Dilly's recovery so
far as Headrockdogs Rescue would never be able to pay such a
substantial bill without your help. She would certainly be dead by
now if we hadn't taken her to Kasetsart Veterinary Hospital. To
those of you who have have thought about making a donation but haven't
yet please press the PayPal button. Dilly will be so grateful.
