I am reaching out to update you on my progress. I have been approved for surgery in April for a Neuro-Stimulation implant. It was invented by St. Jude Medical and has good results with people suffering from Chronic Post Thoracotomy Pain Syndrome. More ...

I have been very cautious about what I have shared or not shared. Recently some friends and family came to our aid and said if we had only known we would have helped sooner. So on their advice I am reaching out.

I am in need of medical care to address the pain I have resultant of the Thoracotomy I had in June of 2012. This thoracotomy saved my life. This is after a doctors accident almost took it.

On June 25, 2012 I entered Cedar's Sinai as an out-patient for a "routine" Endoscopy. During the procedure the MD perforated my Esophagus. I had only a few hours to live. I had to have a thoracotomy. Thats an operation where they cut you open from your sternum to your back, spread your ribs, remove rib muscle and wrap it around the damaged Esophagus, and sew and stapel you up. The Thoractomy though having saved my life damaged the intracostal nerve. Instead of getting better over time I am getting worse. The scar tissue is squeezing the intracostal nerve.

I have subsequently found out that I am in a high risk category with other medical conditions.

Simply put I need help. I will be able to work with significant reduced pain and get off my cane with this operation. I am of sound mind and have the ability to work. Please help me help myself. PLEASE.

I have had therapy to address this situation and the next phase costs $3,850. Since I don't have medical insurance the MD needs this up front. Love John
