My precious granddaughter, Sayuri Barbosa-Colon, (we call her Yuri for short.) was born, in Puerto Rico on 11-19-2012. She was born with "Edwards Syndrome" and many additional health complications. Her condition has been classified as “Catastrophic”.

We are reaching out to you, our family and friends to help offset the mounting cost of medical health care and the many special items she needs for a better quality of life, such as physical therapy, special living conditions to help her little lungs, special forumlas, filtered water, tests of all kinds, the list goes on and on. She is covered by a medical plan in Puerto Rico, but there are so many of the specialists she needs to see that will not take that medical plan. Also a lot of her medications are not covered, and are very expensive.

We are thankful for every day and every moment she is with us, and would like to make her as comfortable as possible, with your help we can do that. I am personally administrating the funds, and 100% of all money will go directly to her needs. THANK YOU ALL.
I also have a Wells Fargo account for her, if you prefer to donate that way, or you can send donations by mail. Just message me privately for that info.

Edward's syndrome is a form of rare genetic disorder where a portion of a person's chromosome 18 is duplicated. The majority of people with the syndrome die during the fetal stage; infants who survive experience serious defects and commonly live for short periods of time. Edwards' syndrome is associated with a broad spectrum of abnormalities which consist of greater than one-hundred and thirty discrete defects involving the brain, heart, craniofacial structures, kidneys and stomach.
The syndrome occurs in about one out of every five-thousand births. Edward's syndrome affects more girls than boys - around 80 percent of those affected are female.
