DFW Lab Rescue is a 501c3 Non-profit organization. We currently have 18 heartworm positive Labradors in our program; each costing on average $500 to treat in addition to the routine veterinary costs. We need your help to cover their costs.
DFW Lab Rescue is a 501c3 Non-profit organization that is now 15 years old. We currently have 18 heartworm positive Labradors undergoing treatment.

Each Heartworm positive dog costs approximately $500 to treat in addition to the standard veterinarian expenses but, we still adopt out these amazing dogs for our standard adoption fee of $275.00. This deadly disease runs rampant in the South due to the warmer weather and higher incidence of mosquitoes. Unfortunately, most heartworm positive dogs that end up in shelters have never received monthly heartworm preventative and are put on death row in shelters due to the cost of treatment. We strive to pull as many Labrador Retrievers as possible and provide all of the necessary medical care needed but we need your help!!!!

Heartworm positive dogs have to undergo 2 arsenic based very painful injections and 30 days of crate rest in addition to antibiotics and other medications and often times chest x-rays to determine the severity of the disease. Good news is once they are treated and on preventative they will live a normal and healthy life.

IN HONOR OF MORELAND (Pictured) who was rescued from Fort worth Animal Car and Contro last Summerl and passed away 3 days after being rescued from the worst case the vet has ever seen of heartworm infestation in his 30 year career.

PLEASE MAKE YOUR TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATION NOW TO HELP SAVE A LABRADOR RETRIEVER IN THE DFW AREA!!!!
