Please help keep inner city youth off the streets with the help of golf. Capitol Hill High School boy's golf team, an inner city high school program that has almost nothing. Over 90% of the student body is on the free or reduced lunch program.
Dear Friends and Family,

I have recently started teaching business at Capitol Hill High School and have been appointed head coach for the boy's golf team. The socioeconomic make up of the current student body puts 94% of the students on the free or reduced lunch program.

The reason I am writing is to plead, hat in hand, for your help. The biggest problem is the golf team has very little of anything. There are some sets of clubs, almost as old as me (close to antiques), with mismatched bags. With the help of a few friends, family, and Golf USA, some of the equipment is shaping up to be at least in the current century. Unfortunately, as you know, golf is not a cheap sport. Getting a group of seven boys to look like a team is going to cost a lot of money, and I do not have a lot of time to get this done as the season starts March 1st. We need to raise over $4,000 and are far from the goal so far.

The goal we have set is based on what other coaches use to travel to golf tournaments and outfit the each member of the team with the basics: carry bag, glove, hat, shirt, shorts, towel, etc. Some of the funds will help repair the existing equipment and re-grip the older clubs.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support. Please know that every little bit will help.

Sincerely yours,

Sincerely yours,

Coach H
